Scott established Wham Architecture in March 2014 in order to develop his work with congregations and community groups. From July 2009 to February 2014 he worked for the specialist conservation practice Peter Drummond Architects where he was involved with a number of projects such as the conservation of the 13th century Portencross Castle near West Kilbride, the £1m refurbishment of a tenement in Kilmarnock’s John Finnie Street, as well as a host of ecclesiastical projects including the remodelling of Pollokshaws Church and conservation repairs to St. Meddan’s Church in Troon. During 2011/12 Scott used his masters year at Strathclyde to identify creative strategies for the continuing and extended use of church buildings. This culminated in the production of a guidebook for congregations entitled ‘A Church for the Future: Developing Sustainable Church Community Facilities’. He was invited to present this research to the conference of the European organisation Future for Religious Heritage in Venice in November 2012. He returned as a speaker to the conference held in Germany in November 2014 to present the Cowal churches project (www.frh-europe.org). In May 2013 he was commissioned by Eco-Congregation Scotland to prepare an introductory guide for congregations called ‘Greening Church Buildings’. This guide is designed to give an overview of the issues affecting church buildings as well as the various strategies for reducing energy usage and encouraging the extended use of church buildings. Scott is an elder at Newton Wallacetown Church in Ayr as well as a director of the Church Buildings Renewal Trust where he has been actively involved in the delivery of annual conferences and the development of resource material including the trust's website (www.cbrt.org.uk).

Donald graduated with a Post Graduate Diploma with distinction in Advanced Architectural Design from the University of Strathclyde in 2016 after achieving a Bachelor of Science in Architecture with First Class Honours the previous year. During his studies Donald completed a six month exchange studying at Sint-Lucas University in Ghent, Belgium. Donald has recently joined Wham Architecture after two years at Roots Architecture in Glasgow where he worked on wide range of projects, notably the renovation of the living quarters at Iona Abbey on the Isle of Iona and the erection of a custom new build family home on Tiree. Since finishing his studies, Donald has expanded his experience on the preparation of all Statutory Consent applications, Billing and Tender packages, coordinating with all members of the wider design team as lead consultant and is currently the main point of contact for Contractor and Client on several projects. At Wham Architecture Donald is currently preparing for Phase 2 of Iona Abbey which is projected to commence on site at the end of this year alongside running numerous domestic projects. Donald’s practical and problem-solving experience on site is benefitted by the construction internship he undertook during the Summer of 2015 with CKR Island Construction on Tiree, where he was involved throughout the construction of a custom built house on the island. Donald is currently working towards his Part 3 professional exam which he is due to sit in November of this year.

Colin holds RIAS Conservation Accreditation and has worked on a series of conservation projects starting with the rebuilding of the boundary wall and gate at Charles Rennie Mackintosh’s Scotland Street School in Glasgow. Colin has been involved with a number of ecclesiastical projects including a comprehensive repair scheme to the A listed Barony North Church in Cathedral square in Glasgow as well as the internal refurbishment of the B listed Adelaide Place Baptist Church. He has recently completed the £3m grant aided restoration of the B listed Saltcoats Town Hall which included major stone, plaster, rooferwork and window repairs. Colin also has extensive experience of large scale new build educational projects such as the £5m School of Nursing for the University of the West of Scotland in Hamilton (formerly Bell College), £1.6m Craigholme Girl’s School Games Hall in Pollok Park in Glasgow, and a new sports hall for Lomond School in Helensburgh (£1.8m). He also worked on the refurbishment of a barge for the Vine Trust in Leith Docks to serve as their new headquarters as well as an education centre and Edinburgh Festival venue. Colin is currently serving as the chairman of the Church Buildings Renewal Trust and is responsible for the annual conference programme. Colin has nearly 40 years of experience in practice and recently retired from his role as Professional Studies Advisor at the University of Strathclyde.
